CMCA Ministry and Intercessory Prayer Letter

February 2015

CMCA Ministry Report and Prayer Newsletter

“It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept.  I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”  Isaiah 49:6

  1. Prayers for Diaspora Church planting

  • Iraqi Church Planting: There are approximately 20,000 immigrants from Iraq in the GTA. Pastor E and his wife will try to form home cell groups by geographical location in the GTA to make a foundation for the Iraqi Church.  Please pray for this ministry to build home cell groups with guidance from the Holy Spirit.  Please also pray for Pastor E, who landed in Canada as a refuge last year, to adapt well and to get his driver’s license and a vehicle for mission use.
  • Bangladesh Church Planting: There is a small group of people who want to start regular prayer meetings for this Church. They are looking to give worship in their native language and culture.  Please pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit that the leadership of this group is raised and for the prayer meetings to continue so their church may be planted soon where they can worship the Lord in their mother tongue within their community.

  • Muslim Seminar (May, Saturday 9:30am – 12:30pm, at Youngnak Korean Church)

Missionary work in Islamic countries is becoming more difficult these days.  The Lord, however, is giving us greater opportunities to spread gospels among the many people who have come to Canada through many channels such as refuge, study, immigration, working, traveling, and so on.  However, there are many Christians who are not interested in them, or afraid of them, or do not know how to approach them and share God’s love.  CMCA is planning to hold seminars and invite speakers who converted to Christianity from Islam to learn how to send good news and Jesus’ love to them.  Please pray for this and participate in this ministry.

  • CMCA Mosaic Discipleship Training (June, Thursday 7:30-10:00pm, at Youngnak Korean Church)

Our places of daily life can be our daily mission fields.  Even though we cannot go abroad for missionary work, we can learn how to participate in Diaspora evangelic missions in our daily life through this training program.   The mission starts with overcoming our prejudices and tendency of living within our own boundaries.  We need to realize that God’s purpose for us is to make friends with smaller Diaspora groups around us and be with them.  I hope you can live as missionaries in your daily life, and pray for this ministry.

  • CMCA Diaspora Culture Festival (Saturday, May 23, 7:00pm, at Korean Presbyterian Church)

If the world doesn’t come to the church, the church should go out into the world.  We are preparing this Festival having that in mind.  We see that terrorism and conflict among nations, religions, and culture has increased in the regions of the world.  We hope this festival may bring all the nations together in understanding and communication with one another.  We are preparing to present each nation’s ethnic songs, dance and culture during the festival, which will be a good starting point to understand and share with each other.  Please pray for the preparation of the festival so all nations can join and share love.

  • For CMCA Partners and partnering churches: To be filled with God’s abundant grace and peace.
  • For the approval of CMCA as a registered charity: Recently, newly obtaining Revenue Canada’s approval as a registered charity has become very difficult. We appreciate the volunteering partner who is helping us in the process.  Please pray for the approval.
  • For finance of CMCA: We are expecting 49% of the 2015 budget allocation will be sponsored through partners. We thank all partners who promised the financial support for CMCA ministry.  Please continue to pray for the financial support.
